Signs and Symptoms of Depression

Depression is one of the most common mental disorders in the United States. Signs and symptoms of depression can show up at work, at home, at a party, or even just while sitting and doing nothing. This is why it is so important to be aware of when you start to exhibit feelings of depression, and then take steps to alleviate them.

The signs of depression varies from person to person.

  • Irritability

  • Loss of interest in activities

  • Excessive crying

  • Low self-esteem

  • Fatigue

  • Appetite or weight changes

  • History of suicidal thoughts
