Group Therapy

We are happy to announce that Campfire Confidence: A Girls Guide to Sleepaway Success is back!

Winter Session Begins February 25th, 2019.

Campfire Confidence is a fun 6-week group that will meet on Monday afternoons at 4 pm in our Union Square office.

The group is intended for elementary and middle school aged girls who are going to sleep-away camp for the first time OR who have been to sleepaway camp and need extra support for their upcoming return. Each week we will pair a topic related to anxiety with a therapeutic technique or coping skill by using creative activities that the girls will be able to take to camp with them. Topics covered will include self-confidence, relationship building, self-esteem, and coping skills.

Campfire Confidence will be run by Mia Rosenberg, LMSW. Mia is a graduate of New York University. She has a concentration in children and families. She believes in a strengths-based approach, which allows collaborative problem solving and building trust and honesty with the client, while also emphasizing possibilities. She has training in acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, behavior modification, cognitive behavioral therapy, and play therapy. Mia joined the practice of Liz Morrison Therapy in January of 2017. Mia is a former sleepaway camper. She spent 7 summers at sleepaway camp and she loved it so much that she returned as a counselor for an 8th summer. Her favorite activities at camp were arts and crafts, soccer, and waterskiing. She is so excited that she gets to share her favorite memories as well as her favorite tips and tricks to be present and in the moment in order to enjoy being at camp.
